« Canterbury Tales » represent one of  famous synthesis medieval culture, in this quality even with « the Divine comedy » Dante. At Chauser also are available, though and in a smaller measure, elements of medieval allegory, alien to a short story as ganry [20, 65] . In synthesis « Canterbury Tales » short stories take leading place, but synthesis much more widely and much more important for Chauser. Besides synthesis of genres at Chauser is not completed, there is no full  legends, a fable, fairy tales, elements of a knightly narration, the sermon, etc. Even novel "stories", especially in introductory parts, contain verbose rhetorical reasonings on various subjects with reduction of examples the Scriptus and antique history and the literature. Autocharacteristics of story-tellers and their disputes far are beyond a short story as genre or even the collection of short stories, as special genre formation .

Conclusion

Generalizing the aforesaid, we can draw following conclusions:

Carrying out research of the text, we have applied different kinds of decoding to the text: at phonetic, lexical and syntactic levels. The text has been spread out to making signs, elements, however we had been established mutual relations of making elements which define unity of the text. Images of the Knight and the Seller of indulgences are presented complete owing to the established communications between elements of a various level (phonetic, lexical, syntactic, a level of images). Chauser, creating images of heroes, builds the certain structure of mutual relations of elements of the given levels and the structure of these mutual relations is «generator» of sense, representing the reader this or that image in the completeness and beauty.

In story of Seller of indulgences a lot of stylistic means which purpose is strengthening emfatic narrations is used, the narration is directed on causing the certain aesthetic and emotional impression in the reader. Carried out researches at phonetic, lexical, syntactic levels and at a level of images represent the story as stylistic picturesque and skilfully built. The Author, establishing communications, parallels, oppositions between elements of various levels, operates the mechanism of meaning, expanding word meanings, word-combinations, adding the stylistic for word stylistic and emotional painting. As we could be convinced, the author operates a discourse of the text, having chosen for this purpose the certain models (forming parallelism, rate of the use of words, a pressure between a prologue and the story) for monitoring the mechanism of meaning.
