Academy

The Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the Government of the Russian Federation was established in 1977 and has since become a leading educational and research center in Russia in the area of public policy. The Academy delivers business and educational programs and trains civil servants, entrepreneurs, managers, financiers, and lawyers. Its teaching excellence manifested itself through the successes of over its 100,000 graduates. Among the Academy’s graduates are presidents of the Newly Independent States in the post-soviet area, prime ministers and ministers, famous financiers and leaders of the Russia industrial sector.

The Volgograd branch offers degrees and certificates of higher education, as well as continuing education programs. The professional curriculum is based upon an interdisciplinary course of study that includes elements of the theoretical and practical aspects of modern economic, legal, political and social environment of Russia as well as comparative political culture and international practice. The Academy has over two hundred highly qualified instructors who teach three thousand students. One hundred and fifty professors have scientific degrees. Many of the professors play an active role as advisors and consultants to the government and municipal agencies, regional commercial agencies (banks, insurance, trade, industrial companies, law agencies, etc.).

There are 3 full-time departments at the Academy.

The Faculty of State and Municipal Management trains future managers. The profession of a psychologist taught at the Faculty enables the graduates to work at some psychological managerial bodies, at personnel agencies and social-protection departments.

The Law Department trains specialists for legislative bodies such as Procurator’s office, the Bar, Justice, and Courts of Law. Apart from studying law future lawyers do research work under the guidance of experienced teachers and gain practical knowledge from law offices.

At the Faculty of Economics students get degrees in the following majors: financial management, financial consulting, or tax and taxation.

The Academy has two sub-faculties: the Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication and the Department of Physical Education. These departments work with students from all the departments. The Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication provides instruction in linguistics. The Department of Physical Education organizes sports activities with students.

The Volgograd branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration has already become a leading scientific and methodological center in the sphere of public management, in the system of training, additional training and improvement of professional skills of state officials in the Lower Volga Region.
