Великобритания еще была великой державой, но соперничество с США и СССР стало для страны недосягаемой мечтой. После войны англичанам пришлось надолго расстаться с мыслью о мировом господстве. В конце III и в начале II тысячелетия до н.э. на остров Британия вторгся народ неизвестного происхождения, которому были известны обработка бронзы и гончарное дело.
